Spring work
Torsion springs are weighed, matched and replaced in pairs. High-cycle doors get high-cycle springs. This is the single most-often-botched job in the trade.
- Weighed, not guessed
- Safety cables as standard
We are not a handyman service that also does garage doors. Doors, springs, cables, tracks and motors are the entire business, which is why the diagnosis takes ten minutes instead of an afternoon.

Specialists, not generalists
There is a particular kind of quote we see a lot. A general handyman looks at a door that will not open, cannot see anything obviously broken, and suggests replacing the motor — because the motor is the part that looks like technology and the springs are just bits of coiled steel up near the ceiling.
The motor is almost never the problem. The springs carry the weight; the motor merely guides the door. A specialist walks in, pulls the manual release, lifts the door by hand, and knows within thirty seconds whether he is looking at a spring, a cable, a track or a motor. That is not cleverness — it is repetition.
It is also why we can carry the right stock. Our vehicles hold torsion springs in the common sizes, cables, drums, rollers, hinges, brackets, capacitors, receivers, remotes and the motors we fit most often. A generalist cannot do that, because he never knows what today's job is going to be.
Our specialisms
Anybody can bolt a motor to a door. These are the jobs where experience is the difference between a fix and a recurring problem.
Torsion springs are weighed, matched and replaced in pairs. High-cycle doors get high-cycle springs. This is the single most-often-botched job in the trade.
Humming, clicking, running-but-not-moving, or dead. We know the failure patterns for each brand, which means we repair what is repairable instead of replacing by default.
Low headroom, skew lintels, double openings with a structural pillar, garages converted from something else. These are the jobs generalists quote and then quietly walk away from.
Forty doors on one scheme, all the same age, all failing in the same order. We service them on a schedule instead of forty separate emergencies.
Older Gauteng suburbs are full of doors that no longer match any standard size. We build to the opening rather than forcing the opening to the door.
A large slice of what we do is correcting somebody else's installation: doors hung out of square, wrong springs, no safety cables, motors two sizes too small.
What specialisation buys you
It is not a philosophy. It is a shorter callout, a smaller invoice and a door that stays fixed.
A ten-minute diagnosisNot an hour of poking at the motor while the meter runs.
The part is already hereSprings, cables, rollers, capacitors and motors live on the vehicle.
One visit, not threeBecause the diagnosis was right and the part was on board.
The right spring, first timeWeighed and matched, so the motor is not fighting the door for a decade.

FAQ
Experience, training and the doors we will not touch.
Send us a photo of your garage door on WhatsApp. We can usually tell you what has failed before we load the van.
WhatsApp a photoRepetition. A specialist has taken hundreds of doors off their tracks and put them back, which means he recognises a failing cable drum by the sound it makes. A handyman is guessing carefully. Both may be honest — but only one of them is carrying the right spring in the back of the vehicle.
Yes. Gliderol, Wispeco, Hörmann, Alutec and the local fabricators, plus every motor that has real support in this country — Centurion, ET Systems, Digi and Chamberlain. If it hangs in a Gauteng garage, we have almost certainly worked on it.
Yes. We will not hang a door on a lintel we do not trust, we will not fit an undersized motor because it is what the customer already bought, and we will not put a new motor on a door that is beyond saving. Saying no to those keeps the guarantee meaningful.
We do — roller shutters, high-cycle sectional doors and industrial hardware for workshops, warehouses and business parks. See commercial garage doors.
More than fifteen years, all of it in Gauteng, all of it on garage doors. The business grew out of one bakkie and word of mouth in the East Rand, and the operating rule has never changed: turn up when you said you would.
Where we work
We run vehicles out of Johannesburg, Pretoria and the East Rand, which means most of Gauteng is a short drive rather than a full day's travel. Pick your area for local turnaround times and pricing.
