Our story
Started on one bakkie and a set of spanners
Clearpath began the way most honest trades businesses in this country begin: one man, one bakkie, a set of spanners and a phone that he actually answered. The work came from neighbours in the East Rand, then from their neighbours, and eventually from half of Gauteng.
Fifteen years later the vehicles are branded and there are more of us, but the operating rule has not moved. If we say we will be there at ten, we are there at ten. If we cannot make it, we phone you before ten — not at half past eleven with an excuse.
We do not run a call centre. We do not sell your details on. And we do not quote a number on the phone that mysteriously grows once the technician is standing in your driveway.
What we actually do all day
- Repairs. Broken torsion springs, snapped cables, doors off the track, buckled panels, dead motors.
- Installations. New steel, aluminium, hardwood, roller and sectional doors, measured to the opening you actually have.
- Automation. Turning manual doors automatic, and replacing the motors that gave up.
- Servicing. The yearly hour of maintenance that quietly prevents the emergency callout.
How we work
Four rules we do not bend

Quote before spanner
Nobody touches your door until you have a written price in your hand and you have said yes to it. If the job changes, we stop and phone you.

Stock on the vehicle
Springs, cables, rollers, brackets, capacitors, remotes and motors. A repair that ends in "we will order the part" should be the exception, not the business model.

Say the unprofitable thing
If replacing is cheaper than repairing, we will tell you — even when the repair is the easier sale and the bigger margin.

Safety is not an upsell
Torsion springs hold enough energy to kill somebody. We fit safety cables, we set the reverse sensor, and we do not shortcut either to shave R300 off a quote.

Leave it cleaner than we found it
Old door removed and taken away, swarf swept up, driveway hosed if it needs it. You should not be tidying up after a contractor.

No. Clearpath is owner-run and independent. That matters more than it sounds: there is no head office taking a cut of your invoice, no lead fee baked into the price, and no anonymous subcontractor arriving in an unmarked bakkie.
Do you work on doors you did not install?
Constantly. Most of our repair work is on doors fitted by somebody else, sometimes twenty years ago. We are not precious about it — if the door is sound, we will fix it.
Do you handle body corporate and estate work?
Yes. We service complexes, estates and body corporates across Gauteng on scheduled maintenance agreements, which is a good deal cheaper than paying for forty separate emergency callouts. Email info@clearpathgaragedoors.co.za for a site visit.
